Alma Mader Brewing is now hiring!

Taproom Operations Manager

We’re hiring our Taproom Operations Manager ahead of the opening of our new taproom, targeting a fall 2026 launch. This is an opportunity to help build a taproom from the ground up — shaping the systems, training the team, and setting the standard — rather than stepping into something already running.

You’ll be the operational leader of a two-bar taproom and the Owner/Director of Operations’ closest day-to-day partner, with your scope and ownership growing as trust is earned.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead all aspects of daily taproom operations — including opening/closing, cleanliness, beer quality and presentation, menu accuracy, POS and cash reconciliation
  • Recruit, hire, train, and coach hourly staff; build schedules that balance service and labor goals
  • Set the tone for guest experience: warm service, beer knowledge, efficient and professional handling of guest needs
  • Manage weekly inventory, ordering, and beer-to-go operations
  • Coordinate and collaborate with our kitchen partner for a seamless guest experience
  • Lead public and private event execution (including collaboratively planning and executing public events with owners, and growing private/corporate events to meet revenue goals)
  • Provide weekly reporting on sales, labor, staffing, and operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations

Qualifications

Required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the composure to deliver warm, genuine hospitality under pressure
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems proactively, and remain calm under pressure
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in hospitality, retail, food & beverage, or another customer-facing environment
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing teams
  • Comfort working with sales, labor, and cost data to guide staffing and operational decisions
  • Experience creating employee schedules and managing labor costs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to obtain any required alcohol service certifications
Preferred
  • Previous experience managing a brewery taproom, craft beer bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue
  • Demonstrated interest in growing into broader operational responsibility over time
  • Passion for craft beer and a desire to continually expand your beer knowledge
  • Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and cash handling
  • Familiarity with event planning and execution
  • Current food handler / ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Paid time off
  • Health benefits
  • Beer and merchandise benefits
